After your patient has been diagnosed with a vision impairment or low vision and there’s a need for them to see better, please let them know there’s still hope, and that something can be done.
Working with a low vision specialty practice, you can help your patients get the most out of their remaining vision, and eventually see and do many of the things they want to see and do. Through vision rehabilitation, adaptive devices, and specially made eyewear devices, I can help your patients see and function with greater independence and safety — all while working in tandem with you.
Every referral begins with a comprehensive low vision evaluation, where we assess exactly how much functional vision your patient has left and build a personalized plan around their specific goals. Yes. We work in tandem with the referring optometrist or ophthalmologist to support the patient’s overall eye care plan.
What happens during a referred patient’s first visit?
The patient undergoes a comprehensive low vision evaluation to assess their remaining functional vision and determine the right treatment plan.
What treatment options are available for referred patients?
Depending on the diagnosis, treatment may include specialized low vision glasses, low vision rehabilitation therapy, or other adaptive devices and strategies.
